Packaging innovation
La Prairie’s iconic cobalt blue packaging is synonymous with the brand’s legendary treatments first developed by Dr. Paul Niehans in the 1930s.
The signature colour was inspired by the work of French American artist Niki de Saint Phalle in the 1980s. Saint Phalle used the colour in her sculptures to depict femininity, strength and serenity.
Working closely with the La Prairie team, Two Create helped modernise the Skin Caviar collection, adding innovation and improving sustainability without losing any of the collection’s unique luxury codes. Cleaner geometry was used with sharper detailing, pack layouts reworked to accommodate the new logo and bespoke typeface and a style guide created to ensure future consistency.
Its layered, thoughtful approach to historic context, product development and legacy design warrants the title of couture-for-the-skin.
Packs are now more sustainable with a 15% reduction in weight, plus inclusion of 30% recycled content. We also achieved 50% material and weight reduction in the secondary packaging whilst still retaining La Prairie's signature luxury appeal.
